Lusitania Commemoration Event, Cobh - 07/05/2015

Images from the event to mark the centenary of the sinking of RMS Lusitania on 07/05/1915. The president of Ireland, His Excellency, Michael D Higgins, attended and laid a wreath at the Lusitania monument. The Cunard Cruise Liner, Queen Victoria, was alongside at the Cobh Cruise Terminal and its horn was sounded at 2.10pm signalling the time the Lusitania was hit by the torpedo and again 18 minutes later when it finally sank beneath the surface with the loss of 1201 lives.
